Valby Idrætspark

In Danish football, there is nowhere like Valby Idrætspark.

Valby Idrætspark
3. September 2024
Boldklubben Frem v. Lyngby Boldklub (4-1)
Oddset-Pokalen 2. Round

It was proven once again on September 3., 2024 when the legendary stadium in Sydhavnen - a classic Copenhagen working-class district - formed a framework for the showdown between Boldklubben Frem and the Superliga team Lyngby Boldklub in the Danish Cup Tournament.

3,000 spectators dreamed of the impossible. Boldklubben Frem’s advancement agains a club from the best tier.

Founded in 1866, Boldklubben Frem, is among the oldest football clubs in Denmark. Thay have won six Danish championships - most recently in 1944 - as well as two cup titles in - most recently in 1978.

Community and loyalty are at the core of the Frem spirit and have always been crucial to the fact that the club has always played an important social and cultural role in Copenhagen. Frem’s supporters are deeply loyal. They proved that when the club went bankrupt and moved down th Denmark’s sixth-best tier at the start of the 2010's. They continued to support the community - and at the same time became part of the new ownership - one where it is possible - either as a fan or a sponsor - to buy shares in the club.

Today, Frem is back in the divisions and now plays in the 2nd Division, the third best row. The ambition is to establish itself and once again become a factor in Danish football.

Agains Lyngby Boldklub, Frem showed the old tactics and let the supporter’s dreams become reality. Frem won 4-1 and, as always, dreams of continuing to move on.

Sporting succes comes and goes, but on Julius Anderssens Vej in Sydhavnen, the community will always live and its hearts beat for Boldklubben Frem.
